I plant and design to evoke the spirit of the wild by feeling into the soul of a ferny woodland, a May meadow fizzing with cow parsley or the flowing vegetation of an American Prairie.

I believe that Naturalistic Gardens fill a void in our lives by reconnecting us with nature and returning the wilderness to our day to day. Placing planting at the heart of a design creates gardens which are truly immersive rather than something to look at from afar.

My gardens are havens for wildlife with successional flowers for pollinators and habitats for all kinds of insects.

Before moving into Garden Design my background was in ecology, skills I use now to create sustainable gardens with planting attuned to the site and climate.

I’m particularly interested in creating drought tolerant gardens which withstand long hot summers without watering and are adapted to our changing climate. Low-maintenance gardens are important to most people; carefully selected plants and designs ensures that the spaces I make are easy for all to maintain and enjoy.

I trained through an apprenticeship with award-winning Garden Designer, Philippa O’Brien. I’m based in The South West, and work mainly in Bristol and Bath.
